Outdoor Creative Awards
The Outdoor Media Association (OMA) run the outdoor media industry's creative awards which are now in their third year. The awards were developed to raise the profile and standard of outdoor advertising in Australia and to reward the best creative work.
The creative collective, The Glue Society, has been commissioned by the OMA to help with the re-branding and re-positioning of the awards. The aim is to give the outdoor awards that ‘cutting edge' that makes them a ‘must enter' awards' program among the creative community. The awards, previously known as the ONE Awards, attracted some great creative executions in 2006 receiving 270 entries which was a slight increase on 2005. The winning creative team won a $10 000 cash prize and $500 000 worth of free media space for their client.
The OMA conducted research to gain feedback on how well the awards were received and are undertaking a complete review of the program. The awards are being re-positioned so that they directly target the creative community. The OMA is launching the new awards program in November 2007 with the call for entries planned for August 2008.
The new awards program will involve only one call for entries and judging session. The prizes have also been adjusted to encourage creative's to develop innovate work and enter the program. The judging panel will now consist solely of senior creative directors and the categories will allow ambient, less traditional forms of outdoor advertising to be entered.
Stay tuned for more information and the launch of the new awards.
